Ride with GPS Club Account (Member Benefit)

SBC’s Ride with GPS (RWGPS) club account unlocks paid features for SBC routes in the club library.

Routes include profiles and climb estimates; calendar ride pages may include a “GPS Link” for Garmin.

Member features (SBC routes):

  • Turn-by-turn navigation (RWGPS app).
  • Offline maps for no‑service areas.
  • Event ride sync to your RWGPS account.
  • Print maps and cue sheets.

Join the club account:

  1. Create a free RWGPS account: Ride with GPS.
  2. On a desktop, click “Apply to Join” on the SBC page: Account Page.
  3. Email maps.sbc.salem@gmail.com with your name + RWGPS nickname for approval.

Ride Mileage Tracking

Track your credited rides and yearly mileage totals.

  • Which rides you’ve received credit for

Awards (annual banquet):

  • Dan Rice/Joanne Heilinger Memorial Battered Saddle — most miles ridden
  • P.E.D.A.L. (Pedals Every Day and Likes It) — most rides ridden
  • 20/1000 Award — at least 20 rides or 1,000 miles in the year

Data entry: Ride coordinators enter participation/mileage; admins can help if needed.

Ride sheets: Scan/upload after rides (or email the Ride Chair if you can’t).

How to upload (quick):

  1. Open the upload link and click the blue Upload button.
  2. Title: YY.MM.DD-Ride# (example: 24.06.01-11111).
  3. Description: ride name + mileage.
  4. Create Date: day of the ride.
  5. Upload a clear scan/photo, click Save, confirm it’s readable, then shred the paper copy.












Salem Bicycle Club (SBC) Volunteer Recognition Points

Overview. Points are awarded only to Salem Bicycle Club (SBC) members who volunteer in approved roles or activities. Points are tracked throughout the year and converted to recognition certificates that can be redeemed at participating stores.

Eligibility & Redemption

  • Member-only program: Points are awarded only to SBC members.
  • Redemption value: 1 point = $1.00 in recognition certificate value (redeemable at participating stores).
  • Distribution: Certificates are distributed at the annual banquet, or mailed to SBC members earning 5 or more points.
  • Additional recognition: Members with the highest point accumulations may receive a special recognition gift.
  • How to volunteer: Contact a board member, ask at a monthly meeting, or check the website’s Volunteering tab for current opportunities and the Committee tab for committees needing help.

The SBC Board may, at its discretion, award points for volunteer service not listed above and may adjust point values. Each year, the Board determines how best to acknowledge volunteers based on experience and available funding.

Greater Arizona Bicycling Association -- A bicycling organization promoting cycling in Tucson and the rest of Arizona.

 

League of American Bicyclists -- Founded in 1880 as the League of American Wheelmen to protect the rights and promote the interests of bicyclists.

 

Mid-Valley Bicycle Club, Corvallis, Oregon -- A recreational club for beginning and experienced bicyclists of all ages and sponsors of the Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour

 

Mt Baker Bicycle Club -- A club of bicycle enthusiasts located in Bellingham, Whatcom County, Washington.

 

Portland Bicycling Club -- Portland's largest bicycle club with rides offered daily for all types of cyclists in an E-Bike friendly cycling environment.

Salem Bike Vision-Salem Bike Vision (SBV) works to create safe, direct, and protected bike infrastructure throughout the community of Salem, Oregon. The effort was founded by community leaders serving on the City Council, the local transit district Board of Directors, and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board who possess a shared vision for an interconnected bike system for the future of Salem. Now, we have a total of 9 passionate community members on our Steering Committee, committed to ensuring Salem Bike Vision continues to evolve and grow. 

 

Seattle Bicycle Club -- A not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to the interests of recreational cycling enthusiasts.

 

Siskiyou Velo -- The largest and most active bicycling club in Southern Oregon and sponsors of the Mountain Lakes Challenge.

 

The Street Trust -- A Portland-based non-profit organization working to promote bicycle use and improved bicycling and walking conditions and the providers of a comprehensive curriculum teaching children traffic savvy through classroom activities and on-the-bike practice.

 

Tacoma Wheelmen's Bicycle Club, Tacoma Washington -- Founded in 1888 to promote and develop safe bicycling for recreation, health and alternate transportation.

 

Tri-County Bicycle Association, Lansing, Michigan -- The largest bicycle club in Michigan offering a range of recreational rides almost every day and four annual bicycle tours (including the annual DALMAC 4 or 5 day 300-400 mile camping tour from Lansing to St. Ignace over the Mackinac Bridge).

 

UltraMarathon Cycling Association -- A non-profit international club with over 1200 members in 20 countries sponsoring of a range of events including the Year-Rounder Century Challenge and sanctioning the Race Across America and RAAM qualifiers such as Race Across Oregon and the 508.
